BioBased Europe Environmental Policy
At Biobased Europe we are committed to protecting the environment because being green is at the very heart of our business model. Our products themselves are based around safe, natural resources so it makes sense for us to act responsibly in other areas of our business too.
Biobased Europe serves its customers in a sustainable and environmentally sound manner. We manage our environmental impacts and strive for continuous improvement through research, development and consultation with key stakeholders.
We have implemented this policy throughout our UK operation and accordingly we aim to:
• Integrate environmental considerations into business processes and decisions
• Manage and reduce the consumption of non-renewable and environmentally sensitive resources
• Eliminate, reduce, reuse, recycle or dispose of waste in an acceptable manner
• Review and improve the environmental aspects of our operation and products
• Comply with all legal requirements, regulations and standards
• Measure and continuously improve our environmental performance
• Respond to the concerns of our stakeholders, and provide information about our environmental performance.
Products
All of our products are derived from renewable sources and are readily biodegradable. We are also actively working towards more recyclable plastics in our packaging and labelling and are investigating a process whereby our customers can send back their empty bottles for refilling.
Measurement
As a small company we do not operate an ISO14001 compliant Environmental Management System, but have implemented a range of processes to measure our impact on the environment. After our first complete year of business we will produce a report that measures against our targets and will set out areas for improvement.
